A new jump has been made to the Andromeda sector. We were there a Terran month ago, but back then we cancelled the jump because Optolong L-Pro had not been mounted to the imaging equipment. Now that we have disposed of that filter, I decided to revisit the sector, see what we could get.

The technicians abord the ship had to work hard to get any good out of the jump. Main problems were:
  • The image resulting from integration was very dark, and it was difficult to recover any detail out of it. While the darkness is not new, in other occasions it had been easier to recover the details underneath.
  • The wild gradients from the light polluted space we navigate through were as hard as ever to deal with, but their effect was larger than other times as the image contains a large portion of background, which suffers more from the gradients
  • The Chaos presence generated large dark spots across the canvas
Still, the navigators are moderately happy with the end result, it is better than the previous one they say, and have decided to use the image in that gallactic map of theirs.
